It was said that "you can't come home again". Not true! For the last 36 years, I have lived across the street from where I grew up in SLP and most of my neighbors are the kids or grandkids of the people who lived there when I grew up--amazing! There is something special about SLP! But I can't believe it's been 50 years-yikes! After HS, I attended the U, moved to Denver, then to Florida and back to Denver, returning to MN in 1976. Along the way, I got a Masters and Law Degree but spent my entire career in judicial administration, the last 30 years of which was as the State Court Administrator for MN (like a hospital administrator but in the courts). I retired 2 years ago and discovered that there is LIFE after work.! I've been married to my husband, Frank, for 39 years. We have 2 children who are both married and living in the metro area and 2 PERFECT grandchildren! I'm looking forward to our reunion and catching up with all of you! |

Comment: Well, it's certainly been a journey! I never graduated St. Cloud State, but finished all but 2 semesters in Elementary Ed. Got married in 1967, divorced in 1970 and went to Uranium City, Saskatchewan, to teach adult education (Business Ed) and spent 3 years there. Moved to Edmonton, Alberta where I ran a Career Center for 2 more years. Returned to Minnesota to Devac Windows; got married to a sweetheart from Hopkins High (hiss, boo) Rick Douglas in 1981. We've been married for 24 years! Praise God. I've been very involved in community theater and at Jacksonville State University. Favorite roles have been: Ouiser in Steel Magnolias and God in Everyman. (Let's not forget that God role, okay?) HA. My husband and I are active in our church, Word Alive International Outreach, and have a ministry of our own. I currently work with Alabama Cooperative Extension System as an admin. assistant - the first low-stress job I've had since 1965! Looking forward to seeing some of you - especially you, Tom Holland! |

Hello Classmates - After 46-50 years of almost no contact with almost everybody in our class, I am really looking forward to the opportunity to see and talk with some of you. My wife Linda and I are currently 'retired' and living in Eugene OR. In fact, I am on 'Permanent Sabbatical Leave' at the University of Oregon so that I can publish a huge backlog of geologic and geochemical data on Chilean volcanoes. We have one wonderful son, a danish daughter-in-law, and two lovely grandchidren, all of whom just relocated from London to Copenhagen. If you want the detailed chronology and travelogue, please continue. After graduation from Macalester in 1969, we moved to Seattle where I did five years of graduate school in igneous peterology. This was followed by four years of postdoctoral work in Houston, primarily at the Johnson Space Center where I worked mostly on lunar samples. I also managed to go on the deep sea drilling ship, the Glomar Challenger, in 1976, and start a project on the Taos Plateau volcanic field. We experienced a small climatic upgrade in 1978 when I went to SMU (Dallas) with our newborn son (two weeks previously). Volcanism in New Mexico and Colorado was replaced by volcanism in Chile in 1984. We took the opportunity to escape Texas in 1993 when I moved to the University of Geneva. This was a fantastic experience for all three of us on most counts, even though it meant getting up to speed in French very quickly, starting from zero capacity, in order to lecture in this really foreign language. I could have taken Spanish or French at Mac, but of course I chose German. We used this situation to travel widely in Europe. Linda finished all this as a high-level manager at Oracle's european HQ in Geneva. In 2012 we took our Swiss pensions at mandatory retirement age and moved to Eugene. We are very happy here and hope to be able to enjoy it for many years to come. See you soon Mike |

Comment: I have lived in Montana for the past 43 years, and retired 10 years ago. Winters are spent on the Gulf Coast of Texas. I read a lot and also enjoy fishing, gardening, and ATVing. I have a passion for dogs and conduct several annual fundraisers for our humane society. The 50th class reunion was so fun, but I was unable to attend in 2022. I got lots of feedback from old friends who attended. |

I can't believe we are at 50 years! I remember when my parents went to their 50th and my grandmother to her 65th. I think my last entry was ten years ago. My husband and I have been retired from teaching for ten years now. We love retirement and spend six months in Minnesota and six in Sun City West, Arizona. Our big news is that we are moving from our home of thirty-nine years, near Excelsior, to a condo in Orono. The big move is August 13. That has taken up our summer. When we aren't packing we are golfing and spending time with family. We have three sons, Chris, Jason and Mike. They are all married and have good jobs. We also have six wonderful grandchildren ages ten to two, three boys and three girls. I am looking forward to the Reunion and the golf scramble, we have an awesome team. |

Comment: I have enjoyed a wonderful 37 years living with my husband in British Columbia. We have 2 sons; Matthew ,age 35, is married and lives in NYC. He and his wife are epecting twins in January. Our son Tim, age 33, lives here in Vanc. with his English wife and is expecting a babe this early Sept.. I continue to play lots of golf, duplicate bridge and am very active. We continue to do lots of travelling and next spring we'll travel to New Zealand to do our 3rd Habitat for Humanity build. Life continues to be good to us. Unfortunately, I will be unable to attend the reunion. . Have a wonderful time. |
