I am not able to attend the 65 bash but will be at the 50 year reunion. Life has taken many twists and turns and every day is a new adventure. My favorite quote is "Don't take life to seriously because you're not getting out of it alive" |

Hello everyone! I too find it hard to believe it's been 50 years since we graduated, time has passed so quickly. I spent most of my working career in the electronics industry which had me traveling all over the US and Canada. Had many good times meeting people and seeing the beauty of both countries. Started out working for Sperry Univac in Roseville, Minnesota in the Memory Engineering Dept. Next went with a division of GTE headquartered out of Batavia, New York followed up by numerous years with Philips Electronics. I was with their Service and Training Dept. so worked in the field resolving customer problems and doing field service training. Was in the US Air Force from 1968 to 1972 specializing in Airborne Communication and Navigation equipment. Spent most of my tour of duty stateside with a couple of TDY (temporary duty assignments) in Vietnam. Would like to go back for a visit now that things are peaceful. It was a beautiful country. Retired in June 2010. Had surgery for a nonmalignant brain tumour in May 2011 and am doing well but was left with a few moderate mobility issues. I guess my ballroom dancing days are over. Still am able to drive, travel and generally enjoy life just can't do it as quickly as before. Staying busy with reading, music, photography and traveling whenever I can. Work a part time job at my parish church which lets me use some of my seminary training. Life is good! I look forward to seeing everyone at the reunion and reconnecting! |

Comment: After Brown University and marriage to Catherine, wanderlust got to me so for the last 35 years we have lived in Singapore, Saudi Arabia and England. Being president of the student council gave me a taste for dealing with all sorts of people and having strange encounters. Our two children got to see the world but they now seem to be firmly based in Colorado and Alabama with our 6 grandchildren. After all this time it is nice to be back in the USA and retired from banking. Living near Boulder, Co. gives me a chance to ski, fish, go to the opera and hang out with Mike Martin and Tim Long. Looking forward to seeing everyone at the reunion. |

2010 Update Wow, where do I start – first on the career side. I continued working for HP until March of this year when I took a package rather than relocation to Chicago. Although I had planned to work a few more years, I’ve decided to retire, thus ending my 43 year career in the IT field both in the technical ranks, but 32 years in sales/sales management. So far, so good as regarding retirement – I really don’t miss "the job" although I miss a lot of the people I worked with. As I said in my 2005 write up, I hoped to have a Nisswa, MN address by the next reunion. Well, that happened back in 2007. The "then" picture shows Bruce and I in the empty hole where the window used to be, just before they tore the cabin down in the fall of 2006. We built a house specifically to our dreams and just love it. Our neighbors on one side did the same thing this year (tore down their cabin and built their house) and since they are 1 year younger and also don’t have any children, we plan on having a lot of fun. Finally, it’s been an honor and a pleasure chairing the SLP 45th Class Reunion Committee. Although participating as a member for the 40th, I now have a true appreciation of the level of effort involved. Thank you to all on the committee! I hope those of you who were able to join us for the reunion had a good time and hope many more can join us for the 50th! |

I live a charmed life in a little log cabin in the mountains surrounded by the beauty of the Canadian Rockies I Attended Mt. Royal College, Calgary, Alberta and taught Piano for many years. I spend the summers operating my Art Gallery in Canada and the winters in Mexico. I married twice and realized that I love independence and freedom on my own terms. My two children , Angela, 37 and Lionel, 35, are wonderful and I am grateful to live long enough to enjoy my 9 year old grandson, Albert and the ultimate experience of being a grandmother! "Life passes, but Art endures"...so I devote most of my energy to painting excursions around the world. I extend a warm welcome to all my 65 classmates to visit my Art studio. |
