Comment: What a fun website! I married Jeff right after graduating from the U of MN, and now 46 marvelous years have gone by! We have 2 children - Andy's family (3 grandkids) lives in the Mpls area, and Sara and her husband live in LA. I'm still playing my clarinet and also play the folk harp in a harp circle. And it is a great joy to be tap dancing. I lead a group of "younger" ones our age, and an older group who sit down while tapping, ages 82-97. We have lived happy chapters of our life in Edina & Red Wing, MN, Bellingham, WA, and Ames, IA - and now have been enjoying La Crosse, WI for 18 years. This time seems like a blink, amazing. See you at the Reunion! |

Comment: Back in the Northwoods of Minnesota and living in our cottage on a peaceful and pristine lake. Becoming quite the "country mouse" after 20+ years in Las Vegas. Love to travel to exotic and wonder"full" places for the winter months, but there's no place like home! |

In June, 1981, I met my wife, Marleen, in Maracaibo, Venezuela. We were both there as exchange visitors from the U.S. with Friendship Force. It was my third Friendship Force trip and Marleen’s first. We were married in August 1983. We have two sons, Andrew, now a junior at Swarthmore College, and John, a freshman at Carleton College. Twenty-seven wonderful years have passed much too quickly; they were the best years of my life. After graduating from Colorado College, I received a law degree from Denver University and got a graduate tax law degree from Georgetown U. I then went to work for the IRS in Washington D.C. Three years was enough of that and I came back to Minnesota in 1976 to work at a mid-size law firm in Minneapolis. In 1992 I began my own solo corporate, tax and estate planning law practice. I’m now edging into retirement from law. In 2001 I built Ace Mini Storage (Plymouth), which I still own, and I created Oh My Gosh! Press in 2007. Oh My Gosh! Press and Blue Ribbon Baking.com were stated to promote my mother-in-law’s book, The Road to Blue Ribbon Baking with Marjorie. Our book is very successful, but I must say that book marketing is in a different league from practicing law. Traveling with my family is my favorite non-work hobby. We have visited many countries on four continents (Australia and Antarctica are still in the future). My favorite trips were our family trip to Egypt in 2007, and my trip to Norway with Andrew (the highlight was dog sledding and polar bear viewing in Svalbard north of the Arctic Circle) and Germany with John (the highlight was a lap around the Nurburgring and a tour of the Porsche factory with lunch in the executive dining room). I also enjoy bicycle riding, water skiing, snow skiing, sailing and ice boating on Prior Lake where we have our home. It was really interesting to read the postings in the “Memory Book” part of the reunion website. I'm looking forward to the reunion. |

On March 5,2001, I lost the love of my life, IAN SWATEZ. We were high school sweathearts and were married almost 32 years. Ian went back to Medical school at age 35 and became a radiologist. During that time I went back to work at the Jewish Community Center as the Sr. Adult Director. As the Sr. Adult Director, I sometimes ran into and served some of your parents. NOW WE ARE THAT AGE. Who is going to help serve and take care of us ????? I don't know if any of you remember this, but IAN was Sparky in '64 and '65. I have tried explaining and describing SPARKY to our 3 adult daughters but they don't know from SPARKY. Oh well, maybe I will have better luck with my 7 grandchildren. These days I enjoy being entertained by my 3 kids and my 7 grandchildren- who keep me very busy! I enjoy traveling with my kids & their families, my signifigant other, Les Novak, and time spent with my friends! My advise for all of us is , live for today, stay healthy, enjoy what we have. We all know life is fragile and we should not take a moment for granted. HARRIET SWATEZ |

Comment: I retired in January, 2014, after a career in clinical research--24 years at Merck, 3 years at GE Healthcare, and another 1 1/2 years back at Merck. My husband retired in June, 2014, after 34 years as a professor at Rutgers University. We still live New Jersey, but are now free to do more traveling. Much of my time is also spent as a volunteer at our church food pantry. We have 2 grown sons--Rob lives near us and Geoff lives in North Carolina. I look forward to seeing old friends at our reunion! |

After High School I went to the UofM. Graduated and then went back to get teaching certificate. Met current husband of 40 years at that point and we eloped after his Dad paid his last quarter of tuition and books. Lived in Austin MN for 3 years while Tom learned the banking biz. Moved to Le Sueur, his home town. We purchased the refuse business and Landfill from his father and built it up from a 3 man, 3 truck operation to 30+ employees and and quite a fleet of trucks. Sold out to Waste Management in 1992, closed the landfill in 1993 and rested for a couple years. Now own a mini storage business and I drive the check book. Our two boys are in the metro are which is nice. Finally got our first grandchild and my first social security check last year on May 15th. Now that's fun. Have a Barndominium (Club Shedd) north of St Croix Falls WI where we spend a good deal of time and might even retire. Not sure whether I'll be in attendence this year. The 50th for sure! |

Comment: I have been living in So. California for over 40 years now. I get "home" to visit family and friends at least once a year. My children are grown with their own families. I am very blessed not only with my 3 children but also with 11 beautiful grandchildren. I am finally retired. My husband, Michael, is an avid golfer. I am taking up golf, do water aerobics, line dancing and a lot of reading. I look forward to attending our 50th reunion and catching up with "old" friends. |
